Lightweight

Collage of Fiber Applications for Lightweight Concrete by Nycon

Concrete doesn't have to be heavier to be stronger.

If lightweight concrete is your goal, you're looking to leave metal reinforcement behind.

You want a product with comparable strength, but a low density.

At NYCON we offer any of our PVA fibers.

These products have been tested to significantly increase compressive and flexural strength of a concrete mix with only a minimal increase in weight (1.3 Specific Gravity).

RECS100

RECS100 by Nycon are 20 denier, mono-filament fibers use primarily for adding lightweight flexural strength as well as impact and abrasion resistance. They are a preferred reinforcement solution for applications under a 1/2 inch thick. RECS100 fibers can replace glass fibers in GFRC at a third of the weight of glass. These PVA fibers bond on a molecular level (hydrogen bonding) within concrete, creating a multi-dimensional network of tensile (180 ksi (1200 MPa)) and flexural (3600 ksi (25 GPa)) strength.

RF4000

RF4000 by Nycon are 130 denier, mono-filament macro PVA fibers used primarily for adding light-weight flexural strength and increasing impact and abrasion resistance. These PVA fibers bond on a molecular level (hydrogen bonding) within concrete, creating a multi-dimensional network of it's tensile strength (120 ksi (800 MPa) ).

RMS702

RMS702 by Nycon are ultra fine fibers used in very thin applications where moisture and ductility are important. RECS7's small denier means you'll a lot of fibers per in3. At 5 Denier (24 microns) filament diameter, it works very well with material flow allowing for ease in extrusion. These PVA fibers bond on a molecular level (hydrogen bonding) within concrete, creating a multi-dimensional network of it's tensile strength (240 ksi (1600 MPa) ).

RSC15

RSC15 by Nycon are 8 denier, ductile mono-filament fibers used primarily to increase the flexibility and toughness of concrete. These fibers lend their 4200 ksi (29 GPa) of flexural strength to your concrete allowing it to bend where normal concrete would break.  These PVA fibers bond on a molecular level (hydrogen bonding) within concrete, creating a multi-dimensional network of it's tensile strength (210 ksi (1400 MPa) ).

RFS400

RFS400 by Nycon are  Poly Vinyl Alcohol fibers with a denier of 40. These fibers are designed for the purpose of adding flexural strength to concrete and improving impact and abrasion resistance. RFS400 also provides shrinkage and temperature crack control. These PVA fibers bond on a molecular level (hydrogen bonding) within concrete, creating a multi-dimensional network of it's tensile strength (240 ksi (1600 MPa) ).

RECS15

RECS15 by Nycon is an 8 denier, ductile mono-filament fiber used primarily to increase the flexibility and toughness of concrete. These fibers lend their 5700 ksi (40 GPa) of flexural strength to your concrete allowing it to bend where normal concrete would break. RECS15 is graphite-coated to aid in dispersion and increase strain hardening. These PVA fibers bond on a molecular level (hydrogen bonding) within concrete, creating a multi-dimensional network of it's tensile strength (240 ksi (1600 MPa) ).
