RECS100 by Nycon can be added directly to the mixing system during or after the batching of the ingredients and mixed at high speed for a minimum of five minutes. Additional mixing does not adversely affect the distribution or overall performance of PVA.
The addition of RECS100 at the normal or high dosage rate does not require any mix design or application changes. A water reducer or super-plasticizer is recommended in concrete products where improved workability and finishability are desired. PVA reinforcing fiber acts with a molecular bond in the concrete with a multi-dimensional fiber network. It does not affect curing process chemically.
RECS100 by Nycon are 20 denier, mono-filament fibers for use in creating fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC). The primary benefits of RECS100 are lightweight flexural strength as well as increased impact and abrasion resistance. They are a preferred reinforcement solution for applications under a 1/2 inch thick. RECS100 fibers can replace glass fibers in GFRC at a third of the weight of glass. These PVA fibers bond on a molecular level (hydrogen bonding) within concrete, creating a multi-dimensional network of tensile (180 ksi (1200 MPa)) and flexural (3600 ksi (25 GPa)) strength.
